Marketers are interesting, don't believe me? Watch...

The sun pours through her shades, waking Alora and reminding her to bring her daughter to school. "Oh no! She is going to be late! She scolded herself in her mind and when she briskly walked to her daughter's room, she fully expected her to be asleep.

Especially a 4 year old, but instead, she was already dressed and had already packed her backpack and said, "Mommy, are you ready to bring me to school?"

Alora looks down and realizes she's the one who isn't ready. She says to her daughter, "I'm really proud of you Seven, you've grown up so fast!

Have some breakfast and I'll meet you in the kitchen." Seven does as she's told and simply makes her way to the fruit bowl and grabs a persimmon.

"Mom! she yells, "I'm going to be late!" Her mother says, "I'm coming, I'm coming and she walks towards the kitchen wearing her sweat suit, putting her hair up and tying it up with a scrunchie.

She says, "Alright Sevs, to the car we go!" Seven opens the door to the chill of the Aspen snow and steps into her mother's Wagoneer she had custom painted amaranth.

They pull out of the driveway and head to Aspen Country Day School both singing to the song Renegade by Aaryan Shah.

Alora drops her off and heads to her office because she's got a marketing deadline she's set for herself.

Speaking of which...

Do you have some things you know you need to get done in your business but haven't because life seems a mess, a hurry, and everything's distracting?

Have you figured out what's held you back?

I offer one big piece of the puzzle from someone who really gets it done...

You probably know you've just got to start. George R.R. Martin asked Steven King how he stayed so prolific as a writer and Steven replied, "I write six pages a day."

This price was too high for George, and the price he pays every day is that he doesn't get to put out wonderful stories because he's too caught up in the 'perfectionism of it all.'

Seriously, I just put out the best I can do at the time within the time constraint I've placed on myself.

This page took me maybe 30 minutes. You'll either love it, hate it or just think it's OK and I'm OK with that.

I hate writing something without a call to action (CTA) so If you like this, write me at

myocdhelp@gmail.com and let me know. If you do, I'll send you another story and the cure to getting those six pages a day that Steven King was talking about.

It's stupid easy. Once you know what it is, which I've already told you kind of, you'll kick yourself, seriously.

However, if you already know that and you've already done that, then you could just ignore this and live your life. What's great about this game of business is you don't have to play!

For those of you who don't want to quit marketing, a thought for you to chew on is...
"Playing the game the way you want to play it IS winning."

Later we'll dive deeper like Cau Yuan, (Cao Yuan of China is the world's gold medalist for men's deep diving, winning the 2024 Summer Olympics men's 10m platform diving event)

This is awkward, but I gotta go abruptly, but don't worry, I'll drop you a line some time,

Derek Soto
